2020 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor
Unveiling the Evolution: My Journey Transforming a Tesla Model 3 into a Track-Ready Powerhouse
In December 2019, I welcomed a Tesla Model 3 into my life, setting the stage for a thrilling EV project that would redefine its capabilities on the track. From sleek aesthetics to jaw-dropping performance enhancements, every modification was a step towards crafting my dream electric vehicle.
1. Rear Carbon Fiber Spoiler:
The transformation kicked off with a touch of aerodynamic finesse. Installing a rear carbon fiber spoiler from T-Sportline not only added a sporty flair but also subtly enhanced the car’s downforce for improved track performance.
2. Tesla Sport Wheels:
Elevating the Model 3’s aesthetics, I acquired 20” Tesla Sport wheels through a serendipitous Craigslist find. To align with the 2020 model’s signature style, I entrusted OCDetailing in Fremont, CA, to powder-coat them in a striking satin grey finish. The result? A seamless integration of performance and style.
3. Eibach Lowering Springs:
Achieving the coveted Model 3 performance stance was made possible with the installation of Eibach lowering springs. The lowered profile not only enhances the car’s visual appeal but also contributes to a more responsive and agile track experience.
4. Tesla Acceleration Boost:
Taking performance to the next level, I opted for the Tesla Acceleration Boost, unlocking the true potential of my Model 3. This upgrade shaved off valuable seconds, catapulting the 0-60 time from 4.2 to an exhilarating 3.8 seconds, making every acceleration a thrill.
5. Ikon Front Lip in Polypropylene:
Embracing a more aggressive aesthetic, I integrated an Ikon front lip in Polypropylene. Beyond its visual impact, this addition enhances aerodynamics, ensuring that every curve on the track is met with precision and style.
6. Chrome Delete for the Panda Look
No track-ready Model 3 is complete without the iconic “panda” look. A meticulous chrome delete was performed, giving the car a distinct black-and-white contrast that’s both bold and eye-catching.
As I reflect on my first EV project, the journey from a standard Model 3 to a track-inspired powerhouse has been nothing short of exhilarating. Each modification was carefully chosen to not only enhance performance but also create a visually striking masterpiece on wheels. The track awaits, and my transformed Model 3 is ready to leave a trail of electric excitement in its wake.
